HTTP COMPRESSION IS A SAFE, POWERFUL AND AFFORDABLE WAY TO SAVE BANDWIDTH AND SPEED UP PAGES ON MICROSOFT IIS WEB SERVERS. httpZip is an IIS server module that reduces costs, improves page load times for your Web site`s visitors, and leverages your current Windows server resources -- safely and transparently compressing Web pages using HTTP encoding algorithms supported in all modern browsers. Powerful compression reduces Web pages to as little as 2% of their original size. Both static and dynamic pages can be compressed, including ASP, ASP.NET, ColdFusion, PHP, Perl and JSP.
With httpZip`s in-memory compression cache, static and many dynamic pages can be served in pre-compressed format, minimizing server overhead. httpZip gives you in faster, more efficient page loads, reduced transmission costs, and servers that can handle more requests, resulting in happier Web site visitors. Unlike IIS built-in compression, httpZip addresses browser incompatibilities automatically and offers true streaming/chunked compression. Fully supported for IIS 4, 5 and 6.0 on Windows NT, 2000, and Server 2003, the software is highly configurable -- adjust compression rules for particular files, directories, and MIME types. Safe defaults also make httpZip an excellent choice for hosting providers.
