QuickSpot vergleicht 2 Text-Dateien und zeigt die gefundenen Differenzen visuell an. Dabei wird Zeile um Zeile verglichen und nicht identische Zeilen werden farblich hervorgehoben. Die gefundenen Differenzen können angezeigt, gedruckt oder in eine Datei abgesichert werden.
Was QuickSpot von ähnlichen Produkten abhebt, ist die Möglichkeit, sehr spezifische Vergleichs-Kriterien zu definieren. Dies gestattet eine Konzentration auf diejenigen Differenzen, die wirklich zählen und relevant sind; Sie finden mit QuickSpot die Nadel im Heustock !
Die Vergleichs-Kriterien im Detail: Sie können spezifische Zeilen oder alle Zeilen vergleichen; Sie können spezifische Stellen oder alle Stellen in einer Zeile vergleichen. Sie können bestimmte Zeichen (wie Kommentare) vom Vergleich ausschließen. Sie können auch wiederholt eine bestimmte Anzahl Zeilen vom Vergleich ausschließen, oder nur Teile einer Datei vergleichen.
Die QuickSpot Hilfe-Datei liefert detaillierte Angaben und gibt Ihnen auch Beispiele, wie Sie das Potential von QuickSpot am besten ausschöpfen können.
Seit Version 3 kann QuickSpot auch Verzeichnisse/Unterverzeichnisse vergleichen.
Seit Version 3.3 funktioniert QuickSpot auch als Batch-Programm. Die Hilfe-Datei liefert detaillierte Angaben.
Dateien und Verzeichnisse können bearbeitet werden, um so die gefundenen Differenzen zu beheben. QuickSpot unterstützt auch das Suchen/Ersetzen von Text sowie das Kopieren von Text von einer Datei in die andere; im
weiteren können geänderte Dateien gesichert und/oder ausgedruckt werden. Beim Vergleich von Verzeichnissen besteht die Möglichkeit, einzelne Dateien zu löschen, umzubenennen, zu übertragen oder zu kopieren.
Die Benutzer-Oberfläche ist grafisch, einfach zu bedienen und erlaubt eine Vielzahl von verschiedenen Einstellungen.
QuickSpot ist eine 16-bit Applikation und läuft daher problemlos auf allen Versionen von Windows.
