| DataMatrix ActiveX lets anyone add professional-quality 2D DataMatrix barcodes to any Windows application such as Visual Basic, Visual FoxPro, Visual C++, Internet Explorer Web pages, Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and others. DataMatrix, the public domain code from RVSI Acuity CiMatrix, is a 2D matrix symbology designed to pack a lot of information into a very small space. The symbology employs Reed-Solomon error correction algorithms with data redundancy to guarantee a fast and accurate recognition even if 60% of a barcode is damaged. The DataMatrix symbol can store between one and 3116 numeric or 2335 alphanumeric characters. It is also scalable between a 1-mil square to a 14-inch square. This means that a Data Matrix symbol has a maximum theoretical density of 500 million characters to the inch.
DataMatrix ActiveX allows you to add barcodes to database reporting and labeling, product packaging, document tracking, postal bar coding and special purpose barcode labeling applications. There is also an ability to use DataMatrix in an internet or intranet project. Thanks to its total simplicity, barcodes can be easily added even by ordinary office workers who have no deep programming knowledge. All they need to do is to insert the DataMatrix ActiveX control into an application, specify a few properties in the properties window and a desired barcode will be generated automatically. Advanced developers will discover all needed properties and methods for adding barcodes to their applications. The functionality of each barcode control is implemented in a single small file, which is great for distribution with an application. DataMatrix ActiveX has been tested using Microsoft Web Application Stress Tool and demonstrated flawless performance. Its installation package contains examples of use in Access, Excel, Word, Visual C++, Visual Basic, and Internet Explorer. |
